Only One Master.

What a day.

On my way out to the city today, I lost a $100 dollar bill.

On my way home from the city, I realized the woman from borders gave me a fake $5 bill for the change to my coffee.

I can't get over it and as embarrassing it is to say it, my heart aches! I feel like I have knots in my stomach. And how ironic is it that this all happened after my last entry about money?

Dear Mr/Ms $100 dollars richer,
please use the money for a good purpose. i hope it made you smile.

Dear Woman from Borders,
that was REALLY mean of you to slip the fake five in between the ones and ten. i hope you're happy that you got the fake 5 out of the register so you wouldn't have to take the blame for it.

Dear BF squared (Bestfriend & Boyfriend),
Thank you for being patient and understanding with me today. I'm sorry that I think the world revolved around me all the time :(. Thank you for loving me anyways.

Dear God,
I'm really sad. I'm sitting here trying to figure out why today happened the way it did. I know you love me and you don't ever try to hurt me but I do think you are trying to teach me something. Lord, money is really important to me but maybe you're trying to teach me that it's becoming more important to me than YOU. I think i became a slave to money & what it could do for me. The instant gratification of money was overpowering the joy that I have in You. Serving two masters, Money and You just really doesn't work, huh? Ahhh Godddd. I'm so sorry, will you forgive me? You are better and so much more awesome-er than all the $100 bills in this world. Help me re-focus on you again. I want to give me WHOLE heart to YOU. Gosh, I have you, what more can i want!! UGH! What's wrong with meeeee. I only want to be controlled by you. I ONLY want to be your servant. YOU are my only master Lord!!!!! I'm sorry :( I love you.

Love, Your Daughter Sharon

Dear Sharon,

"Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you' " (Hebrews 13:5)

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. (Matthew 6:24)

"Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf." (Proverbs 11:28)

"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins" (1 John 4:9-10).
